Description
Petunia kimono dress with split at the top and box pleat in three lengths and four sleeve lengths and suitable for every season.
The cut looks a little more figure-hugging in smaller sizes, while in larger sizes it looks more casual and slimmer. But the choice of fabric also plays a crucial role here.
The special appeal lies in the fact that this piece is two-tone, which means there are hardly any limits to your imagination when it comes to choosing fabric and color combinations. This cut literally invites you to mix materials and/or colors and, depending on the design, it can be styled from sporty to elegant, even with lace!
The special feature is the box pleat and the division over the chest with a slit in the neckline, the length of which can be determined according to your own taste. The yoke and arm are constructed as one cut piece. There is therefore only one seam on the shoulder. This means that the grain in the middle of the neckline is cut diagonally at the front and back, which is particularly effective with striped or checked patterns.
The pattern is constructed in three lengths, as a dress, tunic and shirt!
The pattern shows the options for sewing the dress, e.g. with overlapping sleeves, with short sleeves, ¾ sleeves and long sleeves.
Suitable materials include:
Elastic fabrics with elastane or jersey are suitable. During the test sewing, non-stretchy fabrics without elastane were also sewn, which showed that a size larger had to be chosen! In any case, a soft, flowing fabric should be chosen for this.
