Description
Kimono jacket with peplum:
Heide is a loose, oversized kimono jacket with a collar that is perfect for lovers of a loose and timeless fashion style. It is also suitable for women who prefer the alternative, layered or natural look.
This jacket goes up to size XXXL and suits both curvy and slim women who like the oversized style. The jacket has wide, double-layered peplums on the front and back and double-layered cuffs so that hems are not needed. The pattern includes a dividing seam with horizontal pocket openings. This allows the jacket to have peplums, collars, facings and cuffs in different colors or materials. Two side pockets offer practical storage options and can optionally be zipped up (not included in the sewing instructions).
Kimono jacket without peplum:
Without the peplum, the jacket transforms into a stylish short jacket with a bolero-like look, ideal for wearing over dresses.
The pattern has ¾ sleeves that can easily be extended to long sleeves. The jacket can be designed as a summer or winter outfit depending on the material chosen and is particularly warm as a winter jacket thanks to the double-layered peplum.
Suitable materials include:
The most suitable fabrics are solid ones, such as canvas, jeans, linen, leather/faux leather, corduroy, boiled wool, all woolen fabrics or knitwear at the top and a solid contrasting fabric at the bottom.
For the short jacket without a peplum, both knit fabrics and velour, as well as the fabrics listed above, are ideal.
