Description
Aron is a polo shirt, available with a stand-up collar or a regular collar with a stand-up collar. A special feature is the fold under the button placket, which visually lengthens the shirt. The cut of the shirt is designed for sizes XS to XXXL, making it suitable for a wide range of potential wearers.
The pattern also offers two different sleeve options: a regular, narrow sleeve and a wide sleeve that is gathered at the shoulder and cuff. This option is ideal for making a historical or peasant shirt.
The sleeves can be finished with either a simple slit strip or a professional slit trim; all options are included in the pattern.
Depending on your preference, you can choose between a stand-up collar and a normal collar.
If you want to sew the shirt without folds, simply place the fold in the front center.
Good luck and happy sewing!
Material:
The best shirt fabrics are cotton, batiste, poplin, flannel, mixed fabrics or even fine corduroy; linen is better for historical shirts. Jersey can also be used, in which case I recommend making the collar, facing and cuffs from a matching woven fabric (collars, cuffs and facings are difficult to make from jersey, and only with a matching interlining).
In terms of colour, parts of the shirt, such as collar, cuffs, facings and yoke, can be worked well in contrasting fabric
