Children's blouses or shirts sewing patterns
The pattern has a polo closure and can be sewn with a stand-up collar or a normal collar with a stand-up collar.
A special feature is a fold under the panel, which optically lengthens it.
Additionally, this pattern includes different sleeve shapes, a normal narrow sleeve, a wide sleeve for the girls, which is gathered at the top of the shoulder and at the bottom of the cuff.
The sleeve can be made with a simple slit strip or with a professional slit trim. All variations are included in the pattern.
If you want to sew the blouse or shirt without folds, it's very simple: you just place the fold of the fabric in the front center and the piece can be sewn without folds.
There are 2 lengths on average for boys, not quite as long, or since children in particular often have very different body lengths and widths, it is best to measure an existing item such as a sweater or blouse/shirt, whichever fits best, and use it as a reference.
Suitable materials include:
The best materials are cotton, batiste, poplin, flannel, mixed fabrics or even fine corduroy. Jersey can also be used, in which case I recommend making the collar, facing and cuffs from a matching woven fabric (collars, cuffs and facings are difficult to make from jersey, if at all then only with a matching interlining).
The shirt's color can be easily worked in contrasting fabric on the collar, cuffs, facings and yoke.
