pattern development
Before developing patterns, I start with a detailed analysis of the photos or sketches. First, I create the basic pattern and adapt it exactly to the model. Then I design the individual pattern pieces to ensure a perfect fit and the desired design. Using modern Using techniques and software, I am able to develop a precise and wearable pattern from a photo or sketch.
cut grading
After creating the basic pattern and the individual pattern pieces, the pattern grading follows. This is where I adapt the patterns to different sizes to ensure a consistent fit across all clothing sizes. Using precise grading techniques and specialized software, I can adjust the patterns to match the proportions and measurements of the different sizes. This careful grading ensures that the finished garment fits perfectly in every size and remains true to the original design.
completion
After creating the pattern, prototypes in different sizes can now be sewn. This step is crucial to check the fit and design. The sample pieces allow any adjustments and improvements to be made before the final cut is ready. By carefully checking and fine-tuning the sample piece, I ensure that the finished garment meets quality standards and lives up to expectations.
About me
At 15, I started my apprenticeship as a seamstress, without knowing where it would lead me. My mother always sewed everything for us children, and from an early age I loved helping her copy the patterns.
Started sewing
I actually only got into it during my training, although I always longed to watch the work of the cutting department. My favorite department was actually the cutting department.
Fashion and brands were never important to me.
As a trained pattern director, I love creating designs and discovering the versatility of patterns. I'm always surprised by how materials, fabric combinations and accessories like buttons and piping can change the look - and of course how different the patterns look on different people.
Today I make my own cuts
As my fame grows, I also work as a freelance director for several designers and create patterns at their request.
